So today I'm playing Overlord...I know, I know the games over a year old so why talk about it? This game is fun on so many levels beyond just game play...Consider this a partial review because I've just started the game. You start off as the overlord and your realm is a wreck. The tower at which you reside is under construction and it seems that you servants,slaves and captives have all escaped your underworld realm.
So in the beginning of the game these minion little demon thingies wake you up from unconsciousness or deep slumber...I'm not quite sure. And these minions are funny. They are also very loyal to you and they are your main source of control in this game.
As the overlord himself you will not be able to get around the game without the help of these minions..hell with out them you are dead and that's the cool part of the game. It's not just about controlling one character to do everything its about multiple character control. The more power you get throughout the game the more minions you can control. From what i understand there are four types each one dealing with the elements of the earth ,,,fire, water, gas and earth or the the brown minions..so far Ive acquired the use of the brown minions and the red ones which serve as archers and throw fire balls.
Like I said before the fun factor is really here. Just about anything can be smashed in the game by the minions and the overlord himself can either choose to be a good guy or a real evil sob with no regard for human life.
This is the first game where the secondary characters in the game are actually what you need to carry your main character though the game...cool concept.
