In the beggining....

The first game i've played on the ps one was silent hill....man was that one weired game with a story line that was even more strange (it took the third game in the installment to finally get it...sorta) Then there was metal gear solid...I lost so many hours of sleep playing that game it wasn't even funny. I've been a gamer now for the past 13 years now and the atracction for me this: I love movies. Todays games are virtual interactive movies (for the most part). Where else can you get to be a cop starnded in the backwoods fending off zombies (resident evil 4) or play the part of tom clancys international spy hero with the splinter cell series or (my favorite) destroy just about everything in your path as the un jolly green behomouth incredible hulk (total destruction...all the other hulk games dont count! )

As a matter of fact why not let that be the game I christen this blog with.

INCREDIBLE HULK ULTIMATE DESTRUCTION

Why review a game from a console that isnt next gen any more? I'l tell you why..because this game deserves to be a classic. First off this is the game that FINALLY bought out the essence of what the hulk is about, tearing up stuff and making it look like fun while he does it. C'mon be honest..if some one pissed you off to the point were they got on your last nerve how cool would it be if you could rip a cab in half, put 'em on as gloves and give the target of your frusrtation the beat down they so richly deserves.

(disclosure: not that I'm promoting beating someone down who gets on your last nerve..of course you should always try to talk it out first or maybe just walk away...)

Now I have to be honest, the graphics of this game are not the greatest, some may even say there sub par so in that aspect ot the game i'd have give it a score of a 6 out of ten...other games that proceeded this game (god of war, you know who you are) have shown us what the ps2 is capable of so there's no excuse for weak graphics.

As for the gameplay; solid-solid-solid. The controls are tight and the camera follws you faithfully where ever you go...whether its running along side a building or jumping up thirty feet in the air and crashing back down to earth i couldnt find any flaws in this aspect so i'm scoring it as a 9.

The sound on this game is worthy of being played thruogh a home theater sytem...play it loud..feels the windows in your living room vibrate as the hulk lands after a huge leap. Feel the bass of the subwofer punch you in the chest as the hulk hurls a bus at an attacking helicopeter that explodes with cinematic sound. Hear the sound of glass shatter all around you as building after building gets leveled in this game. To play this game on anything else will rob you of the total experience this game has to offer. Score on this aspect :10

The missions of the game are fun and exciting but not really for rocket scientists...they consist of going from point a to point b and destroyng something or beating the crap out of something or bringing something you took from some one after you destroyed there place and beat the crap out of them...in other words this is the perfect game for someone with anger management issues who needs too let off some steam.

Ultimate destructuction also offers some really funny side missions as well ( my favorite was the mission when you got to see how far you could hit a cop with a lead pipe. Classic.)

All in all this is a game that really doesnt get old. You can pick it up play a side mission and never get bored. Or if you just have a few minutes to kill just run around and tear things up. And when you boil it all down isn't that what we really want to do when we get frustrated to the point of no return?

game score graphics 6

gameplay 9

sound 10

total average: 8.3

rent or buy....BUY (espesially now since its probably less than 20 bucks)
